Welcome to Ye Olde Danish Inn’s Website. Ye Olde Danish Inn is a quality alternative to vacation rentals and B&Bs in Humbolt County. Ye Olde Danish Inn has become a national and international beacon for adventurous travelers to relax in privacy and complete comfort.
Located on a 10 acre private estate overlooking the Victorian Village of Ferndale (www.victorianferndale.com), the Inn not only offers seclusion but plenty of room to breathe the fresh country air, while within close proximity of the wonderful recreational opportunities for which the Redwood Coast is famous: i.e. redwood forests (nature’s cathedrals), secluded beaches, pristine nature preserves and a lot of wildlife. And for those guests who enjoy a bit of gambling, an added local attraction is a quality casino (www.bearrivercasino.com) which is only a 5 minute drive from us.
We are located only a 4 to 5 hour scenic drive (Highway 101) north of San Francisco, Ca. and about 3 hours from Redding, Ca. (Interstate 5). Ye Olde Danish Inn is located 3 miles in from the spectacular Pacific ocean, approximately a 5 minute drive on Ocean Ave.
We offer two very comfortable and completely private suites, each with its own private balcony, overlooking beautiful views of the Victorian Village of Ferndale and the Eel River Valley. Many of our guests are using Ye Olde Danish Inn as a Health or Spiritual Retreat, due to the beauty and serenity of the Inn’s nature.
The two suites have comfortable, cozy furnishings, some being of Danish design, both suites have high quality queen size hide-a-beds, to accommodate families with children. Both suites offers wood burning stoves; satellite TV; central heating and comfortable bathrooms both with stall showers. And, should you need a little entertainment, a film library with a good selection of vintage US and Foreign films (VHS) is available to our guests.
To truly enjoy the magnificent views, we have strategically placed a couple of comfortable benches, where our guests can sit and enjoy the spectacular panorama. The two sites offer different views of Ferndale and the Valley.
Downtown Ferndale is only two blocks (and a world) away, or just a couple of minutes walk to both good quality restaurants and interesting local owned shops.
Ye Olde Danish Inn’s hosts are both immigrants, Uffe being a Danish born native, and is fluent in Danish and some of the other European countries languages, and Kuniko being born in Hokaido, Japan, is fluent in the Japanese Language.
